Tower Bridge Approach
The northern approach to Tower Bridge, now called Tower Bridge Approach, was once a key route linking the Iron Gate on the north bank of the Thames. The bridge's completion reshaped how London moved, above all for pedestrians crossing the river. Before it opened, the Tower Subway — roughly 400 m to the west — offered the shortest crossing from Tower Hill to Tooley Street in Southwark.
