Disneyland Park

Disneyland in Anaheim, California, is the first theme park ever opened by the Walt Disney Company and the only one Walt Disney himself oversaw from design to opening day, July 17, 1955. It wraps streets, a castle, steamboats, and themed lands into a self-contained world screened from the outside by a berm of earth, with a central hub radiating outward to each land and landmarks guiding the eye — a layout that fundamentally changed the theme-park industry. The park has welcomed more cumulative visitors than any other on earth. Walk in, follow Main Street U.S.A. toward the castle, and you'll find that every ship, every statue, and every magnifying glass conceals a story that millions of feet have walked past without stopping to notice.
